Argiolas di Cagliari Iselis Bianco Nasco

  • View: Argiolas di Cagliari Iselis Bianco Nasco has a beautiful straw yellow colour.
  • Nose: A sweet bouquet greets the nose, with aromas of yellow flowers and yellow fruits, broom, and melons.
  • Mouth: Full body, dry, and round on the mouth, with a fresh and creamy texture. The finish is long, with notes of marzipan and bitter almond.

VINEYARD: Argiolas. The land was acquired in 1938 by Antonio Argiolas who started the business. The founder died recently in 2009 at the age of 102, reinforcing the popular belief that the wine from Argiolas gives longevity and good health. Located in the west coast of Italy, in the island of Sardinia, this vineyard has a total of 280 hectares, dedicated to the production of high-quality wines of many varieties. Argiolas di Cagliari Iselis Bianco Nasco is a special project for the Argiolas family, and the earnings from its sales are destined for humanitarian purposes.

GRAPES: 85% Nasco and 15% Vermentino.

AGEING: The majority of the wine is aged for sixty days on the lees, while a small portion is matured in French oak barrels.

PREPARATION: The grapes are harvested a month early, and then gently pressed and naturally decanted. The two varieties are processed together from the beginning. The wine is then left to mature for a month before it can be finally bottled.

PAIRING: This white is perfect for seafood, such as fish-based appetizers, but also with risotto with artichokes, white meat, and medium-ripe cheeses.

ALCOHOL: 14.5%

It has aromas of white flowers. I noticed a kind of salty aftertaste in the finish.
I enjoyed it.
