Hot summer days, a long growing season and free-draining soils have helped Hawke's Bay become one of the premier wine regions in New Zealand. Anthony Joseph Vidal, a young emigrant from Spain, was one of the first winemakers to appreciate the natural potential of the area. He established Vidal Estate in 1905 and his spirit of adventure coupled with a lifelong commitment to crafting classic, elegant wines remains an inspiration to this day.
Fruit for Vidal Sauvignon Blanc 2019 was grown in the Awatere and Wairau Valley's where typical warm days and cool nights provide classic flavours, intensity and definition. Vineyard selection for this wine was based on the potential of each site to produce wines which show tropical fruit flavours and generosity.

TASTING NOTES: Intense aromas of passionfruit and fresh herbs lead into a palate of vibrant, tropical fruit flavours. A distinctive and classical Marlborough style.
GRAPES: Sauvignon Blanc
PREPARATION: The fruit was gently pressed and the juice cool-fermented to retain as much flavour and aroma as possible. Lees ageing of some components prior to bottling has developed mid-palate weight adding to the wine's intense fruit characters.
