Two thousand winemakers work together under the helm of the Adega Cooperativa de Silgueiros. Located in the city of Silgueiros in the Central Region of Portugal, this cooperative winery was founded back in 1962 in order to produce and popularize the wines from the regions of Dão and Silgueiros. Working together, the members that make up the cooperative currently grow a fine selection of regional red and white grapes.
From those white grapes is made Adega De Silgueiros Branco. The company believes that blending different grapes together helps to show the strength and prestige of the varieties. For that reason, Adega De Silgueiros Branco is an excellent mixture of four varieties of white grapes, which are used to achieve the perfect flavour of this Portuguese wine. It is 40% Bical, 20% Cercial, 20% Encruzado, and 20% Malvasia-Fina. After production, the wine was allowed to age for six months before bottling, which allows it a much-needed resting period.
This white wine has both the colour and the flavour of the tropics. It is the perfect wine to accompany anything that comes from the sea, as its citrus notes will brighten the palate and marry well with any white meat such as chicken, fish, and other seafood items.
