Wine of BadenView all products in Wine of Baden
The region of Baden in Germany, is set along the right bank of the Rhine and Lake Constance, with Heidelberg to the north. This is a vineyard that has got a good exposure to the sun, something unusual in the country. Even though there are more than one single vineyard, the plots form a wide mosaic separated by the Rhine and large forests.
The vineyards of Baden follow the eastern bank of the river north of Basel, and end where the hills meet the frosted plains of the Rhine, causing the vines to grow on the slopes facing the south.
Within Baden, the different strains cultivated include Müller-Thurgau, Riesling, Sylvaner and Gutebel, for the whites, and Pinot Noir and Rulander, which are preferred for the red.
