Reynolds Julian Grande Reserva 2010 (Trincadeira, Alicante Bouschet and Syrah)
- View: A deep garnet red
- Nose: An intense and fruity aroma with notes of forest berries, dark ripe fruits, and a bit of vanilla and spice.
- Mouth: Medium-bodied and velvety on the palate with a rich and complex flavour supported by firm tannins. Juicy fruit notes of blackberry, plum, raspberry, and black currant are complemented by sophisticated spice notes such as cocoa, black pepper, liquorice, and cedar, with a touch of a floral overtone. The finish is long and smooth. Ideally served after 15 minutes of decanting.
VINEYARD: Reynolds Wine Growers. These grapes were grown among the rolling São Mamede hills in southern Portugal, which has a typical Mediterranean climate. Reynolds uses sustainable agricultural techniques, including natural drainage. The harvest is conducted at night with strict quality standards.
GRAPES: 40% Alicante Bouschet, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 20% Syrah
AGEING: Aged in Seguin Moreau barrels, each variety separately, for an average of 12 months, then bottle aged for 5 years.
PREPARATION: Each of the three grape varieties was vinified separately. The whole berries were fermented in French oak vats in their own yeasts, followed by malolactic fermentation for 3 months with minimum sulphite application.
PAIRING: Steak, venison, game, barbecue, meaty stews, teriyaki, carne asada, dark chocolates.
RECOMMENDED SERVING TEMPERATURE: 16-18°C
