Almaviva Rothschild Puente Alto 2016

Perfect wine does not exist, or at least. . . This true Rothschild icon gets consistently high ratings from the international wine press, for all years. Almaviva proves that exists perfection. "Far more satisfying than plenty of Bordeaux" Jancis Robinson writes about this cult project of the family (Mouton) Rothschild and the iconic Concha y Toro. Open, fragrant, deep purple almost sweet fruit, violets, flowers, vanilla, chocolate, complexity and sophistication. Typical Chilean eucalyptus. On the palate velvety but with backbone. Soft tannins and cocoa powder. Sultry ripe fruit surrounds your taste buds, soft and creamy with laurel, chocolate, tobacco and licorice. Complex and saved.

At the supermarket.
A really tasteful wine of red ruby colour. Deep scent, like coffee. Not the sweetest wine, but kind of.

Almaviva Chili 2016

The 2016 growing season Began With A very dry winter, consistant of only 193 mm of rainfall from May to September 2015
June Was completely Call dry, Followed by significant rain, 119 mm in August alone
The Following colder and rainier spring presented terms than usual, Especially from mid-September to mid-November, qui generated less bunches and some "sagging" on the Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenère vines. , Summer Was PARTICULARLY hot and dry, SPECIFICALLY in December and February

Temperatures Decreased Sharply in March, while April Encountered unusually heavy rain on April 16-17 and 23-24, summing 109 mm in the Puente Alto vineyards. , ALTHOUGH the growing Was Rather cycle delayed with MOST of the phenological courses Occurring later than usual, thesis atypical climatic condition Obliged us to Anticipate and accelerate the harvest, qui INITIALLY started slowly on March 29th, first with the Merlot, and finally ended in a faster pace on May 6th, qui Was two weeks Earlier than usual. , The speed and precision of our harvesting teams to pick healthy Cabernets and Carmenere grapes partner after the rains, along with the optical selection and strict, careful monitoring of the vinification in the winery allowed us to Produce very promising, elegant and available wines, rich in fruit, freshness and character, in line with our great terroir of Puente Alto

Baron Rothschild Almaviva 2015
This rather mild wine pairs perfectly with roast lamb I've already tried it. I love to sharing this wine with friends.
As nearly all of them this one shows also a cherry colour. Slight smell of tea in this Maipo Valley. The texture of this wine from Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) was oily.

I've purchased on this website.
Deep red cherry colour. Tobacco aromas. A red fairly astringent.
