The Vilosell 2006 is a red wine from Priorat produced by Tomás Cusiné with a blend based on syrah, tempranillo, merlot, garnacha and cabernet sauvignon of 2006 and has an alcohol content of 14.30%.

Elaboration of Vilosell 2006

Vilosell 2006 (Cabernet Sauvignon, Garnacha, Merlot, Tempranillo and Syrah)

Blending of 65% Tempranillo, 17% Merlot, 13%Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Syrah.

The vines are supported by vase and trellis, in a clay-calcareous and franc-clay soil. Hand harvested and cooled in cold-storage rooms before going through the selection table. Fermentation takes place at a temperature of 22-24°C. There is a 10-day skin soaking. A nine-month ageing in French oak barrels followed the wine's secondary fermentation (20% in barrels, 80% in stainless steel tanks). Bottled in January 2008, with soft filtering, being clarified with egg white. 14'3% alcohol by vol and 3.53 ph.

Tomás Cusiné

After 20 years of experience manufacturing and marketing of wines in Costers del Segre, Tomàs Cusiné beginning in 2003, his new wine venture. Very knowledgeable about the area, engages his company with a long-term, with the aim of consolidating its hold of prestige. It is installed in the village of El Vilosell, in the region of Les Garrigues (Lleida), rent the old cooperative and remodeling, restoring underground silos and incorporating all the necessary infrastructure for elegant wines of great quality. In 2006 started the expansion of the winery with 500 m2 for the storage and bottling.

Red intense cherry colour and very high layer. The smell of this Vilosell somehow reminds me of menthol candy. A very dense red.

The best company for Vilosell Negre is a good conversation.

Intense ruby red, high layer. Sweet smell of caramel. I found it quite light.
Costers del Segre is a good wine area to drink with food.
