Discover More About Our Products
As the name might suggest, the Anniversario 62 Primitivo di Manduria DOP Riserva is a tribute to the year of the founding - 1962 - of Cantine San Marzano by the hands of 19 winemakers willing to demonstrate the winemaking potential of Salento.
The wine is made from 100% Primitivo grapes grown in selected, very ancient vineyards in the municipalities of San Marzano and Sava, characterised by red soil rich in iron oxides and calcareous substrate. Moreover, this red wine ages for 18 months in barriques of fine French and American woods. The result is an elegant and complex wine, with juicy fruit aromas enriched by elegant spicy nuances. Warm, soft and rich in noble tannins, it is perfect to pair with meats, but also to drink alone as a meditation wine.
As evidence of the quality of this wine, we would like to mention two great awards: the Golden Medal at the Sidney International Wine Competition 2020 and the title of Best Italian Red Wine in the Yearbook of Best Italian Wines by Luca Maroni.

San Marzano is a leading wine producer from the region of Puglia, in the heel of Italy’s boot. The story began in 1962, when 19 vine growers from the village of San Marzano, whose families had farmed the land for generations, came together to follow their dream and founded Cantine San Marzano. Throughout the decades it has grown significantly and now attracts over 1,200 top-quality vine growers.More about the Winery
