Didier Dagueneau

Surely the best producer in Pouilly-Fumé. Active and controversial, Didier always defended the most authentic Pouilly-Fumé wines of character and sauvignon blanc grape, capable, according to him, to produce comparable to the best white wines of Burgundy. Iconoclastic and radical, passionate but...

Didier Dagueneau Pouilly Fumé Silex 2015

Didier Dagueneau now part of the myths of French viticulture. Died tragically in a microlight accident in late 2008, the man nicknamed "the genius of the hill of Saint-Andelain" has left its mark on the Pouilly Fumé. In this land where the sauvignon is king, the names of Thoroughbred, Buisson Renard and Flint continue, through its children to dream lovers of great wines blancs.La Flint wine is the reference area, a wine finesse, mineral and complex at once. This vintage offers an incredible expression of terroir resulting in a wide range of complex aromas of candied citrus from peppermint, while going through the fumes keys. In a noble austerity, Flint is already a great wine of tomorrow (...) Flint proves graph and elegant, ultra-precise: a beautiful wine in its tracks and its salt voltage "Purchase limited to a maximum bottle.

Domaine Didier Dagueneau Silex 2015

A wonderfully intense bouquet of flowers and resinous herbs rises from the glass of Pouilly Fumé Silex Dagueneau anticipating the bittersweet presence of Mediterranean herbs and white floral notes with citrus. All this ends with an impressive finale. This exceptional Pouilly fumé obviously has the unique minerality of Dagueneau wine so unique and desirable. The Silex is perhaps the most unique and sought Pouilly Fumé. Advice is to make this wine and get away from 2017 to uncork the bottle (or try a sip with Coravin and then put away). The Silex is the absolute premier Grand Cru among Pouilly Fumé. The Silex is extremely scarce and more can be enjoyed as it manages to leave this for some time and then enjoy the rest is optimal.

Flint is the emblematic cuvée of the field, the one that made his reputation. Its name refers to land a big flint on which the vines are planted. Located on the top of the hill of St Andelain, the oldest vines are about 60 years old, the youngest 25. perfect harmony, austere and intense minerality of this wine is staggering. Accessible from his youth, the wine acquires Flint aging aromas of mango and passion fruit quite irresistible.

Perfect with friends.
Has a strong colour. It has aromas of honey. Citrus flavours, especially lemon.
Light wine, perfect with a four seasons pizza or other Italian food.

Pouilly Fume Silex Dagueneau 2014
I opened the bottle for my best friend.
The Pouilly Fume Silex Dagueneau has a light yellow colour with bright highlights. Citrus hints of lemon and grapefruit. Oily, unctuous.
To have with good prawns from South.
