- Nose: Fruity aromas of wild berries.
- Mouth: Notes of fruit, especially blackberry, and touches of vanilla; thin tannins; fine and persistent finish.
NAME OF ORIGIN: Port
GRAPES: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinto Cão, Tinta Barroca.
AGING: In oak wood for a minimum period of 7 years.
PREPARATION: Partial destemming; fermentation at a controlled temperature (24º-28ºC), interrupted by adding brandy.
PAIRING: Blue cheeses, chocolate, sweets, candied fruit.
SERVING TEMPERATURE: 10º-12ºC
How to serve
The portuguese vineyard Caves Messias produces excellent wine since 1926. Founded by Mr. Messias Baptista, who acted as a chariman until 1973, it still is a family-owned company. The winery is situated in the center of Portugal in the region of Bairrada, where the estate covers vineyards of aproximately 160 hectares.More about the Winery
