Ferreira Dona Antonia 10 Years Tawny

Dona Antónia is to honor the memory of Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, women who played a decisive role in consolidating the cellar Ferreira values and make one of the best known brands in Portugal for the production of this fortified wine. The vinification takes place according to the traditional method. The fermentation and maceration processes are stuck with addition of alcohol once it reaches the alcohol content and the desired extraction. The Port obtained by mixing the best wines embarks on an aging in oak barrels for at least 10 years, during which it is subjected to careful and repeated checks. It looks at the intense red fawn view. On the nose, hints of flowers and ripe red fruits are combined with elegant nocciolate sensations. In the mouth dominate the body and an unparalleled sensory richness, well-woven into a balanced flavor that remains long in the aftertaste. It can be served chilled as an aperitif. It expresses the best of himself in the company of a good foie grais, with blue cheeses intense flavor and with dessert.

91 pts Wine Spectator - It has a deep tawny hue with red hints. Its aroma is characterised by an excellent balance between the quality of its original grapes and wine (noticeable in its floral and ripe fruit aromas) and its ageing through oxidation in wood (which gives it spicy and nutty aromas). In the mouth, the classic and fresh style of the Ferreira brand is conspicuous, achieving a fine balance between the different sensations in the wine body and in the long final in the mouth.
