Ferreira, a Douro-based Portuguese winemaker, has been crafting excellent wines and ports for over 250 years. Founded in 1751, Ferreira joined Sogrape Vinhos in 1987 to form part of their portfolio of brands. This family-run company is known for the high-quality Portuguese wines and ports that they produce and ship all over the world.
Porto Ferreira Lágrima White is a straw-coloured port made from hand-picked Malvasia Fina, Códega, Gouveio, and Rabigato grapes. Under the care of Luís Sottomayor, these grapes are crushed and macerated before being allowed to ferment. When the mixture reaches the perfect level of fermentation, the process is halted by the addition of brandy. This halting of fermentation allows the port to retain its natural sweetness. The port is then transferred to oak vats to age for two to five years. The final blended Porto Ferreira Lágrima White has an average age of around three years.
As it is best served chilled, this excellent white port is perfect to enjoy in hot weather, ideally as an aperitif before meals. Pair it with salted nuts such as almonds to bring out its fruity notes. The experience and care shown by Ferreira in all of their products really come through in this unique port.

Ferreira Branco Lagrima (Códega, Malvasía, Rabigato and Gouveio)
- View: Straw yellow with golden hues.
- Nose: Fresh, intense fruity aromas intertwined with delicate floral notes.
- Mouth: It has a smooth and balanced input, with a complex aromatic load thanks to its aging in wood. It has a sweet and exquisite, characteristic of Oporto's finest wines end.
VINEYARD: Sogrape Vinhos Portugal. family winery founded in 1942 whose primary objective to produce quality wines, as well as developing and distributing Portuguese brands in international markets. They feature 10 wineries and 14 vineyards with a total area of 830 hectares distributed in the most important wine regions of Portugal.
GRAPES: Malvasia Fina, Codega, Gouveio, Rabigato
AGEING: The wine rests a few months on oak vats 640 liters.
PREPARATION: After being hand-picked grapes are transported to the winery where stemmed partially and gently crushed, for submission to a mashing process during alcoholic fermentation, in order to extract the maximum amount of components their skins. This fermentation takes place in stainless steel with a very precise temperature control and density, so that this process can be completed at the ideal time adding some brandy.
WINE PAIRING: It is an amazing appetizer, but is also perfect with savory appetizers such as nuts and toasted almonds.
