Burmester Tawny 10 Years Old

92 pts Jamie Goode - Nice rich colour. Good viscosity, quite sweet, medium bodied. Not much in terms of complexity, but a nice nose/palate of roasted nuts & raisin. Everything else in balance.

Fermentation in tanks of granite with a continuous maceration for 2 days partially destemmed grapes.
In the basement, several batches are aged in oak barrels of 550 liters, and then be assembled and aged in large oak barrels for 10 years.
The wine is then gently filtered before being bottled.

Tasting:
Intense red bronze. On the nose aromas of nuts (hazelnuts, almonds), vanilla, cherry and jam, reveal a complex and elegant wine. The taste is balanced, full and sweet, with fruity aromas of plums and citrus. A final long and rich with nuances of dried fruit.
