“"The greatest thrill in the life of a winemaker is noticing that they succeeded in discovering the potential of an under-ground." This seems to be the motto of Chateu Le Point, a wine property situated on a ground with a very specific composition, divided between gravel, river pebbles, sand and clay. The uniqueness of the subsoil of this region of France has given to its wine, the Pomerol appellation, worldwide recognition.
The property was founded in the first half of 800. In 2008 we are put in place major redevelopment works in order to improve even more the quality of the vineyard. The philosophy of the winemakers Chateu The Pointe is totally based on respect for the environment, with particular attention to the effects of climate change. This is why the redevelopment work also included the installation of solar panels and rainwater recycling.
fruitier style than the Médoc (Merlot). cooler zone, and soils with higher percentage of clay (and lime), fruity wines, powerful, "generous" and colorful. Ready relatively early. Wine in sharp ascent, which embodies the most typical characteristics of Pomerol: softness, silkiness, fruity bouquet, delicacy, but also richness and concentration. exceptional value for money.”
“"Really good red, with blackberries, tobacco and licorice. Full-bodied, with chewy tannins and a long, rich finish. Excellent wine. Much better than its 1998."
"Performing better from bottle than it did from cask, the dark plum/purple-colored 2000 reveals sweet black cherry fruit intermixed with hints of loamy soil, spice, and earth. The wine has filled out nicely, offering good flesh and attractive purity in a plump, hedonistic Pomerol style. Anticipated maturity: now-2012." - Wine Advocate”
“One of the largest areas of Pomerol.
The castle Pointe covers an area of 22 hectares, planted with 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc. The vines are over the age of 35 years. Generali is the insurer, which bought the property in 2007. The Cabernet Sauvignon rarely appears in the Pomerol assemblies. The wines have never wanted to be classified. The Pomerols combine roundness and flexibility in real power.”
“Cherry colour. Aromas of ripe fruits. The flavour doesn't go out right away.
The best one to enjoy it with a good "Serrano ham"
The Château la Pointe is a familiar wine of Château la Pointe.”

A wine with a high layer and a nice cherry colour. Pretty aromas of nuts. The main flavour is coffee.”
