Château Olivier Pessac-Léognan 2011

Yields of around 30 hectoliters per hectare give the wine a nice opulence. It's hand-stitched with harvest in crates and fussy work in the cellar, to be successful this mixture of virility and sweetness, this very typical soft power of thought. The aromas of both fruity and spicy, and refined tannins suggest a very nice bottle.

4 /5

The Château Olivier is a wonderful estate spreading over 220 acres.
The beautiful vineyard extends on 55 acres.

Composed of Cabernet Sauvignon and of Merlot, the vintage 2011 is unprecedented.
The colour is limpid, bright with a beautiful raspberry red with violet reflections.
It is intense on the nose with aromas of red and black fruits and a woody note.
It is supple and generous on the mouth. Quite tannic in its youth but with a nice potential. The finish is long with notes of spices.
Drink or keep: 2014 - 2022Delicious with: Filet mignon

Reviews about Château Olivier 2013

This 2013 will be able to overcome the difficulties vintage deemed sensitive. Beautiful garnet color. The nose is very expressive with fresh fruit aromas and blackcurrant but also toasted notes and mocha. The palate is soft and fleshy, with aromas of ripe red fruit. The tannins are melted. Beautiful elegance and beautiful smoke length. Drink or keep: 2018 - 2028

Wine not received.

Former hunting landmark of the famous Black Prince, the Château Olivier was known as lordship in the Middle Ages. Since the 1800s, the property belongs to an old Bordeaux family, Bethmann. Recent work and investments in the vineyard are huge and have contributed to the production of quality wine.
The 50 hectares of estate vineyards extend between forest and meadows. The planting of red vines is composed of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot 48% and 2% Merlot.
The wines are aged in oak barrels (35% new) for 12 months.
This 2012 will be able to overcome the difficulties vintage deemed sensitive. It will be predominantly of Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), which gives it delicacy and exceptional refinement. A beautiful mature for this year, supported by aromas of red fruits appreciable, married to licorice and spice.
