Château Olivier Pessac-Léognan 2008

Yields of about 30 hectoliters per hectare give the wine a beautiful opulence. It is hand-sewn with the harvest in crates and picky chai work to succeed in this mixture of virility and sweetness, this very typical soft power of thought. The aromas are both fruity and spicy and refined tannins, suggest a very nice bottle.

4 /5

The estate's wines are produced from hand harvested in crates and followed by vinification in temperature-controlled vats for 10 to 20 days, well, breeding occurs in barrels for 12 months. Methods combined with know-how used to give great wines.
The 2008 vintage offers a masterful dress, red with beautiful purple hues. This dress is deep.
The nose releases fruity and spicy aromas. The nose reveals aromas of black berries. After a few seconds of aeration, the second nose discloses sweet notes like licorice.
The mouth is a powerful and lively attack with great aromatic complexity. Fresh aromas of red fruits and spices interfere mid-palate with fine tannins. This wine has a real architecture, and suggests that this bottle will keep for many years. The finish is long turned to vanilla.
A wine combining virility and sweetness. A typical power of this Pessac-Léognan.

Reviews about Château Olivier 2013

This 2013 will be able to overcome the difficulties vintage deemed sensitive. Beautiful garnet color. The nose is very expressive with fresh fruit aromas and blackcurrant but also toasted notes and mocha. The palate is soft and fleshy, with aromas of ripe red fruit. The tannins are melted. Beautiful elegance and beautiful smoke length. Drink or keep: 2018 - 2028

Wine not received.

Former hunting landmark of the famous Black Prince, the Château Olivier was known as lordship in the Middle Ages. Since the 1800s, the property belongs to an old Bordeaux family, Bethmann. Recent work and investments in the vineyard are huge and have contributed to the production of quality wine.
The 50 hectares of estate vineyards extend between forest and meadows. The planting of red vines is composed of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot 48% and 2% Merlot.
The wines are aged in oak barrels (35% new) for 12 months.
This 2012 will be able to overcome the difficulties vintage deemed sensitive. It will be predominantly of Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), which gives it delicacy and exceptional refinement. A beautiful mature for this year, supported by aromas of red fruits appreciable, married to licorice and spice.
