Classified growth since 1953, The Latour Martillac Estate got its name from the Tower gracing the main courtyard, vestige of a small fort built in Martillac in the 12th century by the forefathers of the famous philosopher and vine grower Montesquieu.

Château Latour-Martillac belongs to Kressmann family since 1871. It owes its name to the tower located in the courtyard, the remains of an ancient fort in Martillac. Renowned for its white wines, the Château Latour-Martillac red appeared following the acquisition of the property by Albert Kressmann, in the 1930s.
The 45 hectares of this Pessac Léognan span of Pyrenean gravel. The grape varieties of red is composed of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot.
The wines are aged in barrels (30% new) for 18 months, with the guidance of Denis Dubourdieu and using Valérie Vialard.
