Elaboration of Le Grand Duc Reserve Vermentino Grenache
Le Grand Duc Reserve Vermentino Grenache (Vermentino)
TASTING NOTES:
- View: Le Grand Duc Reserve Vermentino Grenache is a warm straw yellow with a fresh greenish tinge.
- Nose: Aromatic notes of green apple, lemon, peach, and white flowers.
- Mouth: Fresh, fruity, crisp, and dry, with almond, daffodil, grapefruit, green apple, and stone fruit flavours in a complex and summery dance with broad appeal.
APPELLATION: Pays d'Oc
VINEYARD: Le Bon Vin is a UK-based wine supplier which sometimes commissions its own products to supply. Le Grand Duc is named for the somewhat fearsome eagle-owl that can be spotted following the lines of French vine rows as it hunts its prey. The Le Grand Duc brand itself is Le Bon Vin's own French Vin de Pays line which it supplies to many UK restaurants and events, working with quality French producers it has developed solid relationships with through several decades.
GRAPES: Vermentino, Grenache Blanc
PREPARATION: Vermentino, or Rolle, and Grenache Blanc grapes are often used to craft the crisp, lightly acidic wines from the Languedoc-Roussillon and Provence regions. These two varieties blend together beautifully, to bottle summer itself.
PAIRING: Ideal as an aperitif, you might also enjoy Le Grand Duc Reserve Vermentino Grenache with salads, light cheeses, grilled fish, and seafood. Perhaps pair it with glass noodles with salmon, chilli, and coriander.
RECOMMENDED SERVING TEMPERATURE: 7-10°C
