Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande Reserve de la Comtesse Pauillac 2011

We drank it just like that, without any food pairing. A special red wine for someone just as special .
Red Bordeaux tone. Chocolate aromas. A little bit salty but it was very good.

Réserve de la Comtesse Is the second wine of Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande.
This superb 2nd Cru Classé of Pauillac is held by the Rouzaud family (Champagne Louis Roederer) since 2007, with the controls Nicolas Glumineau. Together, they prolong the hard work of the previous owners, including May-Eliane de Lencquesaing who led the field with gusto. The vinification is followed by the winemaker Eric Boissenot Located in the south of the appellation, on a ground of deep bass, 85 hectares of vineyard of Pichon Comtesse overlooking the Gironde estuary, taking advantage of its favorable climatic influence. 11 hectares of vineyards are located on the nearby Saint-Julien appellation, providing the wine a rare sophistication in Pauillac. The significant presence of merlot in the blend (35% of the vine) gives it a southern side - charm, richness and sweetness - which allows it to deliver earlier than most large Medoc. However, the share of Cabernet Sauvignon has increased in recent vintages, hence even better aging potential.

The wine has a deep color, intense ruby with purple hues. The nose, complex, offers a beautiful composition of black and red fruits: blackcurrant, blackberry, cherry and raspberry, followed by the breeding notes: licorice, vanilla and toasted character, background. The palate impresses with its volume and intensity. Sweet cassis dominate, embedding a powerful and round material, made of fine and sweet tannins. Balance is based on the charm and silky, and ends with a long, slightly spicy finish.

Reserve de la Comtesse Réserve de la Comtesse 2016
I like it with the meat we ate. I tried it during a wine tasting.
It had a deep colour at first sight. Clear notes of toffee. I liked the acidity of 2016.

Deep scent, like coffee. I drank in several day after I first opened it and, even though the days, it tasted good.
The most recommended Pauillac.

Château Pichon-Lalande 2015
Red towards reddish brown hints. Smells of hazelnuts and almonds. It is voluptuos, with body.
To this red would have paired better with a softer meat.
I liked sharing this wine with someone special.

Réserve de la Comtesse Rouge 2006
Was rather dark red. Typical smell of dried fruits. Strong aromas of red fruits.
It is so good that it is better just to use it.
Among the best I've tasted.
