Château Mouton Rothschild 2009 (Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon)

An attractive deep red garnet. The wine reveals a complex range of aromas in which red fruit, raspberry and wild blackberry are combined with spices, white pepper and vanilla, plus some toasted, moderate toasted oak notes. Elegant and well structured, the nose is augmented by notes of incense and candied fruits. The attack and elegance on the palate are prolonged tannin rich flavor. Full in the mouth, creamy and powerful.

Château Mouton Rothschild 2009

The Pauillac combine finesse and tannic power and exceptional aging potential. Such wines can face strong taste dishes such as venison, red meat, preparations of mushrooms or foie gras.

Wine produced in the Bordeaux region of France, and included in the official classification of Bordeaux wines of 1855. This classification has an important historical meaning, it has in fact been ordered by Emperor Napoleon III in order to give even more recognition and importance at the best wines this region of France, for the Universal Exhibition in Paris. The intent, it can be said, was therefore to create an easily recognizable brand even beyond the territories of France. This wine was classified premier cru, which is the highest of the five ranking order (first to fifth cru). The Chateau Mointon Rothschild is produced with Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, mainly, and with Merlot and Cabernet Franc grapes. The harvest is done completely by hand, while the temperature-controlled fermentation in wooden barrels. Following the wine is transferred into new oak barrels, where it remains between 19 and 22 months. The labels, very particular, are drawn from a contemporary painter and different for each vintage.

History will remember the year 2013 an unstable and unpredictable weather. A cold and wet winter followed by a cool, rainy spring, causes a delay of the vegetative cycle and disrupts flowering.
In sharp contrast, July and August are particularly hot and sunny with significantly lower than average rainfall. heat peaks at 38 ° C cause of severe thunderstorms late July.
September remains in water deficit and favors a uniform ripeness of the berries. The Cabernets are promising. The grapes reached incredible sugar with good potential acidity.
The harvest of Mouton Rothschild is conducted in record time, from 30 September to 9 October, with outstanding staff assistance of Baron Philippe de Rothschild was asked to reinforce the troops pickers.
meticulously sorted, the berries are transported in crates gravity tanks of splendid winery Mouton Rothschild. Major innovation: through transparent staves tanks, technical teams were able to observe the evolution of winemaking in every detail. Quality is at the rendezvous, despite lower production.

The 2013 vintage is a beautiful deep red color with purple highlights. The nose is very complex, marked by aromas of black cherries, raspberries, blackberries, and opens the vent to spicy notes and subtle toasty. On the palate, the attack is fresh, with a nice freshness and richness, which extends over the nuances of vanilla and chocolate, all backed by extremely fine tannins. A beautiful farm structure also reveals a long finish with a profoundly aromatic intensity.

It is not easy to find in a supermarket.
Intense ruby tone. Strong smell of berries. Softer than 2016.

Powerful aroma of strawberries. This 2015, compared with the previous one tasted like nothing.
Too acidic for me.
