In sharp contrast, July and August are particularly hot and sunny with significantly lower than average rainfall. heat peaks at 38 ° C cause of severe thunderstorms late July.
September remains in water deficit and favors a uniform ripeness of the berries. The Cabernets are promising. The grapes reached incredible sugar with good potential acidity.
The harvest of Mouton Rothschild is conducted in record time, from 30 September to 9 October, with outstanding staff assistance of Baron Philippe de Rothschild was asked to reinforce the troops pickers.
meticulously sorted, the berries are transported in crates gravity tanks of splendid winery Mouton Rothschild. Major innovation: through transparent staves tanks, technical teams were able to observe the evolution of winemaking in every detail. Quality is at the rendezvous, despite lower production.
The 2013 vintage is a beautiful deep red color with purple highlights. The nose is very complex, marked by aromas of black cherries, raspberries, blackberries, and opens the vent to spicy notes and subtle toasty. On the palate, the attack is fresh, with a nice freshness and richness, which extends over the nuances of vanilla and chocolate, all backed by extremely fine tannins. A beautiful farm structure also reveals a long finish with a profoundly aromatic intensity.
