This noble drink is one of the great from Pauillac and adds to the elite of the Grand Cru Classé wines. Its high quality is undeniable. Wine experts like Jancis Robinson, Robert Parker or Hachette gave very high evaluations and promoted the Château Lynch Bages 1998 into the wine aristocracy. The harvest took place completely manually between the 25th of September and the 10th of October 1998. The grapes were then selected very carefully. In order to get the best out of this red, enjoy the Château Lynch Bages 1998 from 2011 until 2030, with good storage also until 2035. Once opened, however, you should drink it in the next few days. Description · Château Lynch Bages

Château Lynch-Bages 1998 (Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot)

Typically one of the greatest wines of Pauillac, Lynch-Bages, made primarily from Cabernet-Sauvignon, is famous for its fine bouquet and rich tannin which becomes soft and delicious with age. Lynch-Bages is powerful with a long aftertaste.

Beautiful dark colour. Red and black plum berry and cherry fruit, aromatic woods nose and taste. The wine is very finely balanced with ripe menthol cherry fruit and elegantly firm wood tanins. A lovely long elegant aftertaste.

Château Lynch Bages

At the gates of Pauillac, the Lynch-Bages Estate owns part of its name to the ancient village of Bages, which for centuries was home to generations of winemakers. The area of "Batges" is mentioned as early back as the sixteenth century in the terriers (estate records) of Lafite. The vineyard was...

Château Lynch-Bages 1998

Although there are records of the Bages territory as far back as the 16th century, the history of wine production in the area really began in the 18th century. From 1749 to 1824, the vineyard was owned by Thomas Lynch, the son of an Irishman from Galway who worked as a merchant in Bordeaux. Thomas Lynch managed the land wisely and produced high quality wines under the name of ''Cru de Lynch''. Later on, Jean ''Lou Janou'' Cazes, a ''Montagnol'' (a term used to describe farmers from the austere upper valleys of Ariège), came to the Médoc to earn a living. In the 1930's, General Félix de Vial, a descendant of the Cayrou family, leased the vineyard to Jean-Charles Cazes, the son of ''Lou Janou'' and a farmer at Château Ormes de Pez in Saint-Estèphe. Cazes went on to purchase both properties in the wake of World War II. Lynch-Bages has been run by the Cazes family ever since.

Lynch Bages Pauillac 1998

To drink in good company.
Rather clear red hue. It mainly smells like chocolate. It has a smoky colour.
The Lynch Bages Pauillac is the ideal wine to pair it with wild boar sausages.

The Chateau Lynch Bages covers an area of 100 hectares planted over 50% Cabernet Sauvignon associated with Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The geographical area of Pauillac lies in the heart of the Médoc peninsula. The soil is suitable for Cabernet Sauvignon. The wines have intense color and deep. The nose offers aromas of red and black fruit, spice and roasting keys. This bouquet is supported by a fine tannic structure. The Pauillac are great wines of guard. The 1998 vintage is very good. The dry and warm climate allowed a great ripeness of the grapes with thick skins that have saved the rainy September. Great products are complex wines, elegant and delicate. The St Emilion and Pomerol have products velvety and powerful wines, while Margaux and Graves are on the fruit and finesse

This vintage 2013 offers a nice quality. The wine shows a dark red shiny colour. On the nose it is characterised by aromas of black fruits like blackcurrant and blackberry. We also notice notes of toast offering a nice complexity. It is particularly dense and concentrated on the mouth. Balance is perfectly mastered. It expresses on ripe fruits and an elegant woody note. The tannin structure is remarkable, dense and silky. A wine also offering a fine length.

Located at Pauillac on the ancient villages of Bages, former property of the Lynch family, the 5th Cru Château Lynch-Bages has been for three generations in the hands of the Cazes family that manages its business with great success. On the 90 hectares of pebbles facing the Gironde, Jean-Charles Cazes, grows the majority of the Cabernet Sauvignon to a height, because of which they have been compared to several premier wines. Lynch-Bages is today a reference of the Bordeaux wine, always robust, which makes it difficult for an amateur to not possess several bottles well hidden.

The Château Lynch-Bages experiences several great success stories. After an excellent 2010 vintage, the 2011 proves once again the great quality of this Cru.

The robe of this vintage ist profound, intense and shimmery. The nose surprises with great freshness and intense scents of black berries.
The amateurs of the Cru will get once again their money's worth, with a pure wine and its fine, generous texture and elegant tannins.
The long-lasting finale explodes on fruits and a fine acidity.
