Château Latour

Chateau Latour wrote history, The building states its first mentioning in a document dating back to 1331, in which the lord, Gaucelme de Castillon, gives permission to build a fortress tower to defend the region during the Hundred Years War. Three hundred years later, the estate fell into the hands of Alexandre de Segur, which was awarded by King Louis XV with the title "Prince of wine". The Chateau Latour went through many hands and families, in the 20th century the estate belonged to the British until it finally returned to French ownership. My partner bought it in a store.
Clear ruby red colour. Balsamic and menthol aromas. It would have been better if it had been cooler than it was. Our fault.

Château Latour 1 X 2011

4 /5

It has a dark red colour. Special aromas like vanilla. Good acidity for my taste.
I had it with fish, but I didn't like the fish, and therefore the wine didn't taste right.
The first person who told me about this wine, was my brother.

We drank the whole bottle at once with friends and a good conversation.
Intense ruby red shade. Toasty aromas. Toffee and coffee flavours.
This wine improved the meal.

Noticeable aromas of cherry and licorice. I felt it alive and fresh.
I will buy it again, for sure.

Château Latour 2014

4/5

The Château Latour was part of a wine tasting.
It has a very nice colour. A red that smells of cherry and licorice. I don't know what it was but it tasted ripe.
To this red would have suit better a softer meat.
