TASTING NOTES OF Château Lafite Rothschild 1969:
- View: garnet red, medium intensity.
- Nose: heady aromas of snuff, leather, tea leaves, iron and red raspberry.
- Mouth: this fruit, well balanced, fine acidity, creamy tannins
APPELLATION: Pauillac.
GRAPES: 70% cabernet sauvignon, 25% merlot, cabernet franc 3%, 2% Petit Verdot.
WINE PAIRING: truffles, wild mushroom fricassee, veal chop.

Château Lafite Rothschild
While the first known reference to Lafite dates back to 1234 with a certain Gombaud of Lafite, abbot of the Monastery of Vertheuil north of Pauillac, Lafite as the existence of Medieval property is documented from the fourteenth century.
