Château Haut Batailley

The history of Château Haut Batailley: Batailley Part of the castle until 1942, Haut-Batailley that year became the property of Madame de Brest-Borie, the sister of Jean-Eugene Borie, who managed the vineyard and make wine worthy of the known that the vineyard has enjoyed since the mid-eighteenth century. The farm does not have any castle. The wines are now made by the owners of the castle Ducru Beaucaillou, who are cousins.

I bought it on the recommendation of a friend.
The reddish brown edges were not very nice. Definitely the wrong colour, although it was an acceptable wine. Tobacco aromas. A slightly bitter end.

We bought it at Château Haut Batailley.
As nearly all of them this one shows also a cherry colour. The outstanding flavour is of red roses, without any doubt.. I think it was a little bit salty.

I tasted at an organized wine tasting.
Good red wine and reddish brown edges. Strong aromas of oak and cedar. It was light but tasted like blackberries.
The combination of this Château Haut Batailley Wooden Case and meat did not seem appropriate, best pair it with fish.
