Château Duhart Milon

Chateau Duhart-Milon is one of the few properties in the 1855 classification of Bordeaux to lack a true chateau; the wine is in fact finished in a large warehouse off a side street in Pauillac. This does not seem to have any detrimental effect on quality, however, which is currently high, the estate having been revitalised in recent decades following its acquisition, shortly before it perhaps disappeared altogether if its rapid rate of shrinkage was anything to judge by, by Domaines Rothschild, .

After many changes of owners, leading to a drop in the quality of the wines, the Rothschild family bought the property in 1962 and carries out important work (drainage, replanting, purchase of plots, ...).
The 76 hectares of Duhart-Milon extend in one piece to the west of Lafite Rothschild, on the hillside of Milo, an extension of Carruades Lafite. The vines are Cabernet Sauvignon (67%) and Merlot (33%). The average age of the vines is 30 years.
The wines are aged in barrels for 10 to 18 months.
