Glen Carlou Grand Classique 2016 (Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot and Petit Verdot)
TASTING NOTES:
- View: In visual phase vibrant shown dark red.
- Nose: aromas reveals herbal, black chocolate and salty notes, underlined by spice and licorice aromas of dried peaches.
- Mouth: The palate is soft and supple with ripe tannins, good concentration and plush lingering finish.
APPELLATION: Paarl, South Africa.
VINEYARD: Winery Glen Carlou.
GRAPES: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Merlot and Petit Verdot.
AGEING: 18 months in 30% new French oak, 40% second fill and 30% third fill.
PREPARATION: The preparation begins with the harvesting and stripping vines. Varieties are vinified individually to allow development of the unique character of each. After assembly, the mixture is aged in French oak barrels of 225 liters for 18 months.
WINE PAIRING: Ideal to accompany red meats grilled fish to the oven roasted lamb meat and rice.
RECOMMENDED SERVING TEMPERATURE: 16-18 ° C
