In 1863, James Burrough purchased the gin company John Taylor and named it after himself. There he produced between others Beefeater Gin. Later, in 1950 Neville Hayman jumped in to help get the meanwhile shrinking business back on track and ensure its survival after WW II. He was married to James' daughter, Marjorie.
