TASTING NOTES OF Nicolas Catena Zapata:
- View: deep and intense violet.
- Nose: negrso notes, chocolate, liqueur and bitter fruit.
- Mouth: intense and complex flavors of ripe black fruit, black chocolate, spicy pepper and oak.
APPELLATION: Uco Valley.
GRAPES: 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Malbec.
PAIRING: steaks, roast beef, grilled meats.
TEMPERATURE: 16-18 °C

Bodega Catena Zapata

In 1994, Nicolas and his team were confident they had identified the best lots for growing Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. First, Jose Galante, winemaker since 1975, bottling a small cut grapes from the oldest and most uniform batches of Uxmal vineyard (which later was called because of its location Agrelo vineyard in the district of Agrelo). 300 cases were divided wine Catena Alta Cabernet Sauvignon.

Catena wines are single varietals from the Catena familys vineyards. Each vineyard is divided into lots that are harvested separately, and specially prepared to be part of the final blend of each Catena wine.
