Catena Zapata Adrianna River Stones 2014 (Malbec)
TASTING NOTES:
- View: deep dark purple, pink border.
- Nose: exuberant floral aromas.
- Mouth: long, smooth, metallic tannins.
APPELLATION: Mendoza.
VINEYARD: Vineyard Name: Adrianna nearly 5000 feet above sea level in Mendoza. 1.4 hectares of scattered limestone and marine deposits.
GRAPES: Malbec.
AGEING: 24 months in French oak fudres 2000 lts. Fermentation: 25/30 °C. 15 days of maceration.
PREPARATION: fermentation in oak barrels of 225 liters and roll-fermentors of 500 liter French oak for 8 days.
PAIRING: Red meats and grilled.
TEMPERATURE: 18 °C
ALCOHOL CONTENT: 13.7%

In 1994, Nicolas and his team were confident they had identified the best lots for growing Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. First, Jose Galante, winemaker since 1975, bottling a small cut grapes from the oldest and most uniform batches of Uxmal vineyard (which later was called because of its location Agrelo vineyard in the district of Agrelo). 300 cases were divided wine Catena Alta Cabernet Sauvignon.
