Catena Zapata Adrianna River Stones 2014 (Malbec)

TASTING NOTES:

View: deep dark purple, pink border.
Nose: exuberant floral aromas.
Mouth: long, smooth, metallic tannins.

APPELLATION: Mendoza.

VINEYARD: Vineyard Name: Adrianna nearly 5000 feet above sea level in Mendoza. 1.4 hectares of scattered limestone and marine deposits.

GRAPES: Malbec.

AGEING: 24 months in French oak fudres 2000 lts. Fermentation: 25/30 °C. 15 days of maceration.

PREPARATION: fermentation in oak barrels of 225 liters and roll-fermentors of 500 liter French oak for 8 days.

PAIRING: Red meats and grilled.

TEMPERATURE: 18 °C

ALCOHOL CONTENT: 13.7%

In 1994, Nicolas and his team were confident they had identified the best lots for growing Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. First, Jose Galante, winemaker since 1975, bottling a small cut grapes from the oldest and most uniform batches of Uxmal vineyard (which later was called because of its location Agrelo vineyard in the district of Agrelo). 300 cases were divided wine Catena Alta Cabernet Sauvignon.

perhaps the famous Adrianna vineyard Gualtallary vineyard is the most studied in the world and is the best vineyard Catena for malbec. Since 2011 high-end Adrianna produced under the name: Adrianna Mundus Bacillus, the Terrae and Adrianna Fortuna Terrae and Adrianna Riverstones. The Stones River is a unique and rare wine which is made in an extremely low mintage. The Stones River comes from a small plot of 2. 6HA from the Adrianna vineyard which is covered with white oval stones and was a riverbed in the past. The vineyard is located at 1366 level so hot during the day and cold at night but the white pebbles store the heat of the day and give it slowly at night which makes for a very gradual warming and cooling. The Catena Zapata Riverstones is an absolute collector item and incredibly beautiful. Despite its high price, this is compared to the expensive Bordeaux and Burgundies only a pittance.

The famous Adrianna vineyard Gualtallary is perhaps the most studied vineyard in the world and is the best vineyard Catena for malbec. The vineyard is situated at a respectable height of up to 1480 meters. Only in this area (height and plot), the Malbec vine can record the optimum nutrients which ensures that the absolute GrandCru under Adrianna's is remarkably expressive and distinctive. Since 2011, a high-end Adrianna is produced under the name: Adrianna Mundus Bacillus Terrae and Adrianna Fortuna Terrae or also genaam the Adrianna Riverstones. In the Top 100 wines of 2016 by James Suckling, this wine at No. 5. This Riverstones is a unique and rare wine which is made in an extremely low mintage. This is an absolute collector item and incredibly beautiful. Despite its high price, this is in contrast to the expensive Bordeaux and Burgundies only a pittance.
