TASTING NOTES OF Catena Alta Malbec 2013:
- Color: Catena Alta Malbec 2013 is deep dark violet. Development and Aging The grapes for the production of Catena Alta Malbec come from small selected in four of the high altitude vineyards belonging to the Catena family lots: Angelica Vineyard, Vineyard Pyramid, vineyard and Nicasia Adrianna Vineyard. Manual selection of grains, which are flushed into small bins and fermentation tanks 500 liters; batches are grown individually. Fermentation and maceration 10 to 50 days. Alcoholic fermentation and malolactic fermentation end within the barrel. Breeding is in French oak barrels for 18 months (70% new).
- Nose: aromas young fresh ripe black fruit, salveajes flowers, mocha and snuff are noted. The palate is a wine of great structure and concentration, soft and velvety texture.
- Mouth: On the palate intense flavors of cassis and currants with subtle hints of chocolate, vanilla and black pepper are perceived. The final offers attractive mineral flavor with finely integrated tannins and a lively and refreshing acidity.

In 1994, Nicolas and his team were confident they had identified the best lots for growing Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. First, Jose Galante, winemaker since 1975, bottling a small cut grapes from the oldest and most uniform batches of Uxmal vineyard (which later was called because of its location Agrelo vineyard in the district of Agrelo). 300 cases were divided wine Catena Alta Cabernet Sauvignon.
