In 1994, Nicolas and his team were confident they had identified the best lots for growing Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. First, Jose Galante, winemaker since 1975, bottling a small cut grapes from the oldest and most uniform batches of Uxmal vineyard (which later was called because of its location Agrelo vineyard in the district of Agrelo). 300 cases were divided wine Catena Alta Cabernet Sauvignon.

Zu welcher Eleganz Malbec fähig ist, zeigt der Catena Alta Malbec auf's Vorbildlichste. Sein Geheimnis liegt in der Auswahl erstklassiger Parzellen einer ganzen Reihe von Weinbergen: Lot 18 des historischen, 80 Jahre alten Angélica- Weinberges (860 Meter), Lot 4 von La Pirámide (940 Meter), Lot 1 von Nicasia (1.180 Meter) und die Lots 3 und 9 von Adrianna (1.500 Meter). Vereint ergeben sie einen Malbec von königlichem Kaliber, der 18 Monate in 70% neuen französischen Barriques reifte. Die frische Frucht, das sehr feine Tannin und die atemberaubende Struktur sprechen Bände.

Such a gorgeous cherry red. Predominant coffee and wood aromas. Slightly peculiar, very good.
