TASTING NOTES OF Vecchio Florio Marsala Secco Superiore 2012:
- View: amber, golden highlights high brightness.
- Nose: notes of raisins, hiniesta, medicinal herbs, tertiary notes of melted butter and vanilla sweet spicy.
- Mouth: great balance, warm, definite and resounding, consisting of aromas and multiple returns dried fruit, a long way tasty.
APPELLATION: Marsala.
GRAPES: Catarratto, Grillo.
AGEING: 30 months in oak barrels.
PAIRING: dry cakes, crunchy almonds or aged cheeses.
TEMPERATURE: 15-16ºC
ALCOHOL CONTENT: 18%

Vecchio Florio Marsala Secco Superiore is the true Marsala known all over the world, symbol of the centuries-old history of the Florio Cellars in Marsala. Il Vecchio Florio Marsala Secco Superiore is a wine obtained from the vinification of Grillo and Catarratto grapes which undergo the oxidation and aging process in the historic cellars of Marsala for 30 months, becoming the only wine in the world that we all know. Grillo and Catarratto grapes are aged for at least 30 months in oak barrels in the Marsala winery. Marsala is a wine that in the past was one of the finest wines and the main market was the Anglo-Saxon in fact the Florio winery in Marsala is a few steps from the port because as soon as the oak barrels had completed their process of aging were directly placed on ships to England or Ireland.
