Greywacke Pinot Gris New Zealand Marlborough 2013 White 75Cl Bottle; A bowl of freshly picked stone fruit - fleshy white peaches plump golden apricots and sun-ripened nectarines - a wine with rich ripe aromas balanced by a floral purity. The palate is luscious and textural reminiscent of homemade apple pie with rich buttery pastry and a faint hint of cinnamon. This is a wine with considerable depth and richness.

It wasn't well paired with food, but the wine was good and tasty. Drinking it with a lover for a romantic dinner is perfect.
It has a very nice colour. It has aromas of white flowers. Good acidity for my taste.

GROWING: Wrekin Terrace Vineyard in the Brancott Valley, a valley typical of gravelly clay soils of the southern valleys. ENTAV 52 clone (known for its small cluster and berry size) cultivated Riverbrook Vineyard to Rapaura, in young alluvial soils containing high proportions of greywacke river stones. The vines were trained on a trellis VSP two reeds (vertical positioning of buds) and thinning of crops is carried out to obtain a modest yield of 7, 5 T / Ha.
FERMENTATION: The three clones were picked by hand separately to high levels of maturation and whole bunches pressed with very low steeping cycles. The resulting juice was cold settled and then racked into fermentation vessels. The majority of the juice is left to ferment spontaneously in native yeasts in old French oak barrels and the balance is fermented in stainless steel tanks using cultivated yeast.
The fermentations were stops to reach an average of 8 g / l of residual sugar in the final mixture. The fermented components remain in cask oak for seven months during which a part of the malolactic fermentation has been subjected to treatment. All batches were kept on the lees in stainless steel tanks for a further six months, and the wine was then blended and bottled in mid 2016 with an alcohol of 14, 0%, pH 3, 28 and 5 acidity, 5 g / the.
