It is difficult to sum up in a few lines the long and splendid history of the estate. It could perhaps be entitled 'There was once an estate called Château Margaux'.

MARGAUX 1950 - Red Wine - 1er Cru Classé, vintage 1950 Bordeaux. Appellation: Margaux. Chateau / Domain: MARGAUX. If it is a privilege to bear the name of its appellation, no doubt that Château Margaux there is ample justification. For centuries this Premier Cru expresses the highest degree the quality of exceptional terroir patiently gathered by several generations of owners. Maintained and harvested exclusively by hand with extreme care, the 78 hectares of vines (75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot) derive their wealth deep in soil clayey gravelly particularly dense and thick. The fermentation in oak vats, after which the wine is strictly selected, followed by 18 to 24 months aging in new oak barrels. Masterpiece among the claret, the best according to some, Château Margaux reveals the delicate taste and opulence, depth and complexity, and develops a bouquet of rare elegance of rose, violet, black fruit, sub- strained by tight tannins that require patient aging before blossoming. . Rather clear red hue. Aromas of licorice and violet. It was light.
A red that paired extremely well with the food.
I shared a few glasses of Château Margaux with that person I always am happy to drink wine with.

This Margaux accompanied us while waiting for food. I drank with my partner.
Nice colour. Very good aromas of vanilla. The taste was a bit salty, I was greatly surprised.

It was served while having an appetizer. At a dinner with other couples.
Red tinted brown. Aromas of raspberry. Too watery in the mouth.
