Château d'Issan 2014

Dark rubypurple colour, as well as a sweet nose of cassis and spring flowers Although this wine will never be muscular or exceptionally concentrated, it overdelivers with a stylish, elegant, and well crafted harmony among its structural components

I opened the bottle with my best friend.
The Château d'Issan is a true cherry colour. You feel the vanilla smell. Too watery in the mouth.
Perfect with lamb stew.

History of the Castle Issan is one of the oldest properties in the area, the first known reference dates back to the twelfth century. After several estates, Knight Essenault becomes owner of the domain: it is destroying the old castle and is built in the seventeenth century the building that we know today. He thus gave his name, by contraction, Issan. In 1855, the wine of the general ranking between Château d'Issan and 1866, new buildings and new facilities are administered by Gustave Roy. Heritage recovery The Cruse family acquired the estate in 1945, saving the Castle of decline, since at the time there were only two hectares of plantation. Today, the heirs of the Cruse family continue to work with passion to the development of the area and wines. Terroir Château Château d'Issan enjoys a privileged location: a temperate climate, tempered by the proximity of the ocean and estuary allowing vineyards to grow in ideal conditions. The soil consists of ridges of gravel and alluvial hills, the terrain quickly drains water. The vines have deep roots, making all the typical local Issan. Special feature of the Vintage 2014 With the Indian summer, summer conditions returned lasting until late November, with hot, dry weather. This therefore allowed to offer varietals optimal gradual maturity.

Reviews about Château d'Issan 2011

The 2011 vintage has a beautiful purple dress. It is a well constructed wine, with a tangy frame that gives it a nice shine. In the mouth, there is a nice roundness to woody notes. Its charm lies especially in its final stretched and well integrated tannins.
