Elaboration of Château Montus 1995

Château Montus 1995

At the foot of the Pyrenees, 100 km from the Atlantic Ocean, at the crossroads of the regions of Bigorre, Béarn and Armagnac is the region of Madiran. Marked by the Gallo-Roman era and celebrated since the eighteenth century, the Madiran is one of the most beautiful denominations South-West of France (DOC since 1948).

In the 80s, when Alain Brumont took over the family business, everyone started the Tannat variety considered difficult to vinify wines and returning too powerful and tannic. At that time, the region of Madiran strayed in developing denominations spineless and without a future.

With his team, Alain Brumont accepts the challenge out of the shadows its terroir and grape variety, the Tannat.

Tenaciously, he seeks the best terroirs of the region, carries considerable research and study, multiplies experiences. and thus the noble Madiran invented.

Alain Brumont reveals the potential and nobility of Tannat, but always respecting the style of Madiran.
