TASTING NOTES:

  • View: Pale yellow light.
  • Nose: kiwi, lavender and fresh almond finish offers a sense of blackberry flowers and fresh mint.
  • Mouth: fresh flavor with hints of fresh yellow fruits, herbs with a slightly sharp finish.

APPELLATION: Lombardy (Italy).

VINEYARD: Ca Maiol.

GRAPES: Turbiana.

AGEING: Matures in stainless steel tanks.

PREPARATION: The grapes are carefully selected vineyards, vinification is conducted through the process criomaceration where grape juice in contact with the skin of the grapes at low temperatures is allowed, which allows to obtain a better structure and aromas more refined.

WINE PAIRING: Excellent with fish sauce, raw meats like beef carpaccio and homemade pasta.

RECOMMENDED TEMPERATURE SERVICE: 10-12 °C

Lugana Ca Maiol Molin is a selection of the best grapes of the company and used to make a full-bodied and elegant wine. The grapes are hand-harvested and then brought to the winery where their skins are cold-macerated for more than 48 hours at a temperature of 3-4° C in order to help the extraction of the aromas from the skins to the must. Musts fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature to help the aromas of the yeast to develop and once the fermentation is over, Lugana Molin is refined by extended lees for six months before bottling.

The white Lugana D.O.P. Molin wine takes its name from the Molino farm, the old company cellar. In addition to the techniques used to obtain the Lugana Tenuta Maiolo, the Molin selection has also a choice of the best grapes from the companys vines, and uses vinification with cryomaceration, which is the presence of the skins with the must for more than 48 hours at a temperature of 3-4º C: techniques which have allowed us to obtain a Lugana wine which is more structured and has a more polished perfume. The production is limited to around 100,000 bottles a year of 75 cl and 375 cl. The attainment of international recognition gold medal at the Bordeaux Competition and Milan Expo-Vip has permitted the company to distinguish itself in the most prestigious markets.

I bought the Cà Maiol Lugana Molin in the wine cellar.
Brilliant straw yellow colour with green hues . Noticeable in this Lugana lemon and grape fruit aromas. Powerful flavour.
