Viña Leyda Merlot Reserva 2015 (Merlot)
TASTING NOTES:
- View: It is an intense red color.
- Nose: fruity aromas of plums, cherries and spices. Notes of chocolate and black snuff.
- Mouth: The palate is broad and deep, well-structured, full-bodied, but the tannins are velvety, pleasant fruity finish.
APPELLATION: Leyda Valley
VINEYARD: Leyda The company is located in the Leyda Valley, an area located 180 m from the sea level, and characterized by a sunny climate all year round, but cooled by currents of cold air from the Andes, factors affecting quality of wines grown, making them particularly fragrant. Moreover, the presence of the ocean brings rain during the winter months, while in summer, strong southerly winds create different microclimates, and the winds of the cold night cool the vineyards, a combination that gives the area conditions weather quite unique. soils are highly variable, but also those prevalent type of granite, particularly rich in minerals.
GRAPES: 100% Merlot.
AGEING: Aged for 8 months in French oak barrels.
MAKING: the grapes are protected from direct sunlight, keeping the character of spicy aromas. After a gentle fermentation, the wine on the lees and skins left for another 5 days.
MATCHING: beef or roast duck, goat cheese.
RECOMMENDED TEMPERATURE SERVICE: 15-17 °C

- Sweet aromas of plums, cherries, and spices. Dark chocolate and tobacco notes add complexity in the nose.
- Well structured in the mouth, wide and dense, with ripe tannins, bright acidity and a pleasant finish.
