"A heavenly wine which it is impossible to resist" - Robert Parker Domaine Château Puech-Haut: From a virgin land of vineyards, he built what is now one of the largest wineries in the area, in the center it has arise the "chateau Puech-Haut" from stones of the former prefecture of Montpellier. An Italianate mansion built between the seventeenth and eighteenth century was destined to be destroyed. Gerard Bru redeems and transplanted stone by stone in the middle of his new property. It is during these works he discovered a ram's head, ornamental stone of a chapel of the twelfth or thirteenth century and which became the emblem of Château Puech Haut. This is what is capable Bru magician. The vineyard now has some 115 hectares of vines. It enjoys a very favorable Mediterranean climate on soils composed of clay, limestone
and covered with pebbles, the same as found in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The varieties selected for their suitability with the local (Syrah and Grenache in the lead), are grown on principles reasoned without chemical herbicides and harvesting are done manually and perfectly ripe. The vinification in barrels and vats of wood according to color, are separated grapes to preserve all their typicality. Livestock finally is done in barrels, meets the criteria that print an astonishing singularity to wines. One area that many ways to be admired in terms of how the terroir character is reflected in its wines, which stands out as a safe bet in the Languedoc. Gault Millau Wine 2009 Remarkable "very ambitious, Gerard Bru put to great lengths to install Puech-Haut at the zenith of Languedoc wines. . .
