Kumeu River Coddington Chardonnay 2008 (Chardonnay)

Kumeu River began more than half a century on his arrival in New Zealand when Brajkovich family begins a new life. In their home country, Mick and Kate had experience in growing small plots, as well as make their own wine. In some years of work, saved enough to buy a property, Kumeu, with a small vineyard. Vineyard Produced Tim and Angela Coddington, whose grapes have contributed to the mixture of Kumeu River, which produces rich and creamy grotto, giving this excellent wine and unique character. Harvested by hand, once in the winery are pressed for their juice and be able to start the first fermentation. Once in barrels where it remains for 11 months to complete malo-lactic fermentation

Kumeu River Coddington Chardonnay 2008

The wine shows typical fruit of ripe peach conjugated with mineral and floral touch. In the mouth it has a creamy texture in which the acidity is a lovely balance, while I complex and concentrated with a length on the palate.

Good colour. Smells really good, like  fresh lemons. It has a mellow taste of chocolate pudding.
Good wine and a great fit for Mediterranean seafood.
We ordered a bottle at a dinner between a group of friends and everybody liked it.

That white is almost golden yellow. The Kumeu River Coddington Chardonnay shows exotic floral hints of jasmine. Smoky notes in the mouth.
I think the best pairing would be with meat.
I have shared a bottle with my boss in more than one occasion.
I bought it at Uvinum, of course.
It seemed a bit tasteless.

Wonderfully pure, ripe Chardonnay with racy acidity. As expected from Coddington Vineyard, he shows typical ripe peach fruit. The palate is leading the way with lavish, creamy texture and beautifully balanced acidity. Already incredibly delicious, it profits quite of further storage.

We have bought it at an on-line Shop that is now closed.
I don't know if there are problems with the 2009 vintage, but I thought the colour was a straw-yellow. It has aromas of white flowers. Roasted flavours.
