The Domaine Guigal is at Ampuis, was established in 1946 by Etienne Guigal, followed by the direction of his son Marcel with his wife Bernadette, now joined by his son Philippe and his wife Eve. Marcel Guigal is a member of the Institut National des Appelations of Origin in 1990 and was awarded the Legion d'Honneur for the merits acquired in the wine world. The headquarters of the cellar at the Château d'Ampuis - castle of Roman origin later rebuilt and lived by nobles and kings of France - acquired by the family in 1995 and saved from the ruins thanks to a meticulous renovation. Always at the Château d'Ampuis it is headquartered private tonnellerie, which allows Guigal to run through this craft and ancestral work an additional technical control over the quality, seasoning and toasting of the wood used for the aging of its wines. The production takes place instead in the cellars of the old center of the village of Ampuis, the ideal place for the vinification and aging due to its constant temperature throughout the year. Guigal has very prestigious vineyards and draws in part to the grape market, thus producing wines both belonging to the northern denominations and to those of the southern Rhone Valley, namely: Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Saint-Joseph, Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, Tavel and Côtes-du-Rhône

Visual: Dress very deep ruby red with violet highlights. Nose: Spices, red berries and delicate oak aromas. Palate: tannic and massive wine. Aromas of cassis buds and vanilla. The finish is spicy and liquorice. Set: This wine is an example of an elegant wine but who knows seductive stay. This is a wine par excellence.

The Guigal estate was established in 1946 by Etienne Guigal in Ampuis. From this date it produces exceptional wines from the northern Rhône Valley. Some cuvées are now legendary like "La Mouline", "La Turque" or "La Landonne" from Côte-Rôtie, or the splendid cuvée "Château d'Ampuis".

Real master of Syrah, the emblematic grape variety of this region, Marcel Guigal and his son Philippe, have extended their knowledge on the most beautiful appellations of Rhône Valley.
Hermitage is one of them, this cuvée pleases us by its distinction and harmony.

Very deep garnet-red color.
At the nose there are fine aromas of blackberries, bourbon vanilla slightly smoked and a hint of liquorice that offer an enchanting bouquet.
In the mouth, the wine is ample with a beautiful aromatic intensity. The finale is long and remarkable of intensity.

Delicious with: Lamb shanks with thyme sauce

I accompanied the 2018 with steamed vegetables. Perfect wine to share with friends.
The E. Guigal Hermitage Blanc has a deep yellow colour. A white with aromas of white flowers. Good wine, balanced.
