The Winery

Château Peyrabon

The earliest mention of the property is in 1766, when Château Peyrabon appeared on the map of the Médoc, drawn up by the French king's cartographer, Pierre de Belleyme. At the time, it was listed as a wine-growing estate in the village of Saint-Sauveur en Médoc.

It was a surprise for my best friend.
Opaque red. The Château Peyrabon exudes aromas of violets. This red has good body.
The best pairing would have been fish.

Located on the Haut-Medoc region, the Châtau Peyrabon is a Cru Bourgeois of a strong personality. Its actual owner since 1998, the wine merchant Millesima, has fallen under the spell of these very promising 50 hectares of gravely lands. Patrick Bernard and his team, led by Xavier Michelet, are with no compromise passionately committed into this estate in order to sign authentic, elegant, silky, fruit-driven wines and displaying an appealing freshness, so typical of the Cabernet Sauvignon.

This winery is in constant progress since it was bought by the Bernard family. Close to Pauillac, this Haut-Médoc is powerful and tannic with an intense fruit. A wine to taste from year to year to see its evolution…Drink or keep: 2008 - 2014Delicious with: Hare paté

I tasted at an organized wine tasting.
The Château Peyrabon wine is of a red ruby colour, having reddish brown edges. It has aromas that reminded me of white roses. Chocolate and toffee flavour.
It's better not to pair it and drink it alone.
