The tower offers a wooded book explosive nose with powerful aromas of red and black fruits. Power found in the mouth supported by smooth tannins.

Château La Tour Carnet is located in Saint-Laurent-Médoc in Gironde. The castle dating from the twelfth century is the oldest of the Medoc. The land is composed of a highly calcareous clay pedestal covered with a thick layer of serious Günziennes constituting the mound of La Tour Carnet. In 2000, Bernard Magrez rebuke the field and maintains that level of quality and excellence highlighted by the classification of Bordeaux wines of 1855.

The Château La Tour Carnet is the oldest castle of the Medoc. Belonging to Bernard Magrez today, it was the property of Eleanor, sister of Michel de Montaigne. Its current owner began a general refurbishment program, namely the winery, the vineyard but also at the castle.
The 75 hectares of La Tour Carnet stretch for South / South-West facing slopes. The vines of the vineyard is composed of 51% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc 6% and 3% Petit Verdot.
The wines are aged in barrels (60% new) for 18 months.
This 2012 vintage is indeed the proof of the hard work of Bernard Magrez to change this Haut-Médoc among the greatest. Elegant and roundness, it offers a light fruity, in the right measure. This will soften with time.
Probably one of the best quality / price of the Médoc.

I opened this 2015 with a friend.
Reddish towards brown colour. I cleary noticed toasty notes. The wine was ok.
I had it with cod and potatoes.
