Château de Villegeorge 2014


  • View: dark and bright burgundy.
  • Nose: intense and charming black berry shades of green and snuff leaves.
  • Mouth: delightfully soft and succulent, ripe, rounded tannins and hints of caramel and toasted oak.


VINEYARD: 12.32 hectares vineyard is located in the town of Avensan. Vineyard blocks are formed by deep gravel soils, particularly favorable to produce high quality wines. Each production step is carefully tailored to each block. Soil, subsoil or appearance of land are important parameters to consider when planting vines.

GRAPES: Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot 59% 41%

AGEING: 12 months aging in oak barrels with 30% new.

PREPARATION: 15-28 days of maceration depending on the plot.

WINE PAIRING: Roasted duck with honey, cooked quail with figs and cheese.

ALCOHOL: 13.5%

Balsamic and menthol aromas. It wasn't at its optimal service temperature, it would have tasted better if so.
This wine was a real pleasure.
