4 /5

The Château Cantemerle is one of the worthy representatives of the Haut-Médoc.
The intense colour, the concentration and the maturity of the tannins together with the acidity represent the main elements of a wine to keep.
The hue is intense and colourful. The nose expresses notes of charcoal and blackberry. It is serious and sappy at the same time. A hint of violet brings a more tasty touch on the mouth which expresses a harmonious volume. The tannins are present on the mid-palate, offering a nice structure, then leaving room for a tasty and silky finish.

I took it with an octopus and liked it. My partner loves this Medoc.
It had and intense colour. Deep aromas of violets and menthol. This has a very very long aftertaste.

A perfect wine to accompany red meats, grilled dishes and even sauces. I think 2015 is a good year to drink the Château Cantemerle in 2008, although it could wait until 2022 easily.
