- Nose: Inviting scents of ripe red fruits with subtle woody notes
- Mouth: This award-winning mixed red has a balanced palate with complex flavour. Initially, the vanilla and oak aromas present themselves, then ripe fruity notes of plum and red berry emerge followed by a pleasing aftertaste of liquorice. Long and warm finish.
VINEYARD: Grown in just 18 hectares of in the world-famous Graves region of France. The vines used are an average of 28 years old and grow in a combination of large pebble gravel and argilo-calcareous and limestone soils.
GRAPES: 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon
AGEING: Aged in one third new French oak barrels for a full 12 months
PREPARATION: Château des Gravières is a family-owned winery which believes in respecting the time-honoured traditions of winemaking. The grapes for their exceptional wines are harvested using a combination and manual and mechanical processes. The Prestige Collection wine is created using long maceration, with cooling micro oxygenation, then alcoholic fermentation at low temperatures followed by malolactic fermentation in steel vats and French oak barrels.
