You will like to know that…
Wild Snow Dog Gin is a premium dry gin produced by Licores Serrano in Portugal. They began by producing traditional liquors and have been continuously widening their portfolio over the years. Licores Serrano is helping to create a space for Portugal in the world of gins. At the base of this gin are the wild juniper berries harvested from Serra da Estrela, the tallest mountain in Portugal.
At 1600 meters of altitude, the juniper bushes grow uninhibited in the pure mountain air and water. These high-quality juniper berries are just the first step in making this premium gin. To the juniper are added ten carefully selected botanicals: lemon peel, coriander root, kumquat, cassia, cinnamon, angelica root, almond, rose, and nutmeg. This blend of botanicals results in an excellent gin that can be mixed with any garnishes to highlight distinct aspects of the gin's makeup.
The final product is a fresh, clear gin that gives off the odour of freshly picked herbs. It is best served with ice. Try it with lemon peel to bring out its citrus notes; with a piece of cinnamon to tease out its spiced side, or with a slice of apple or a sprig of mint to brighten it and add yet another facet of flavour. For savoury pairings, try fresh or smoked seafood, cured meat, strong cheese, or cucumber sandwiches. To end a meal on a sweeter note, serve with fresh berries.
Elaboration of Wild Snow Dog Gin
Wild Snow Dog Gin
- Colour: Wild Snow Dog Gin is clear and translucent as the purest gin.
- Aroma: Fresh bouquet, full of herbal scents, and strong hints of juniper jumping to the front.
- Taste: Full and complex body on the palate, with a lingering fresh sensation on the mouth. Subtle citrus notes and some spicy traces are also noticeable.
PRODUCER: Zimbro, Licores Serrano.
PRODUCTION DETAILS: Marvellously crafted using ten selected botanicals, including the classic wild mountain juniper, angelica, coriander root, kumkuat, almond, rose, cinnamon, nutmeg, cassia, and lemon zest. Curiously, the juniper used for the fabrication of this gin is collected from the highest mountain in Portugal, Serra da Estrela, and is the only gin fabricated with wild juniper maturation vegetation. Hence the wild factor that inspired the name and the character of this spirit. The botanicals are distilled in stills crafted and located in maceration for a week, concentrating and integrating all the flavours and aromas into the base liqueur. The final result is a superb spirit, smooth and sophisticated enough to be enjoyed on its own as a sipping drink. Also, try it as part of a fabulous gin and tonic, or to create your favourite cocktail.
