Created in Bloomsbury, in 1830, the Tanqueray has become one of the most famous Gins in the world. If the exact recipe remains a secret, we know that coriander, angelica root, juniper and liquorice are added during the second distillation. This creates a balanced and soft taste with notes of citrus and juniper. A bartenders' favourite, the Tanqueray is perfect in a glass with ice cubes, a tonic and a slice of lemon.
While it originated in London, Tanqueray production moved to Scotland after World War II, when its London distillery suffered massive damage at the hands of Axis bombing. Nowadays, its largest market is the United States, where it is the best-selling imported gin.
