When Charles Tanqueray created Tanqueray 1L in Bloomsbury, in 1830, he probably did not expect its gin t become one of the most famous in the world. Its secret recipe has not changed ever since and the four botanicals - juniper, coriander, angelica root and liquorice - are still incorporated in the preparation during the second distillation. Tanqueray 1L 's balanced and soft taste with notes of citrus and juniper combines itself perfectly with tonic water, ice cubes and a slice of lemon.
